Absolutely stunning Webley 700 Boxlock ejector 25" with a Churchill rib and 2 3/4" chambers.

Retaining all of it's colour hardening on the action and the triggers gives a big clue to it's lack of use. It is still tight to open, without being stiff, showing it's handmade pedigree. The blueing is 100% all there and virtually unmarked, the action face is brand new looking without any sign of cartridge marking, the face of the barrels are still beautifully finished and unmarked and every screw on the gun crisp and clean, even the safety catch hasn't rubbed the colour hardening off the top strap.
The stock is in superb condition, only one or two really tiny marks, crisp chequering and lovely grained timber finished off with an unengraved silver oval near the toe.

It really looks like Webley made it yesterday. Calibre: 12 gauge. Mechanism: Side by Side. Origin: England. Orientation: Right Handed. Trigger(s): 2. Barrel Length: 25.000. Barrel Length Inches: 25. Stock Length: 14.625. Sto

Holland and Holland 20 gauge side by side shotgun with back action lock work and Jones rotary under lever closing.
This most likely started off life as a rifle as the left hand lock shows the original loading engraved on the bar "4 Drams 3 1/4 inches" and typical of a rifle, it has external hammer safety buttons on each lock, as well as a top strap safe.
The woodwork is exquisitely grained, there is a long top strap over the hand on to the comb, The lock work inletting is very crisp and well executed, as is the chequering.
The barrels are in perfect condition, with 100% blueing of very good depth, there are some very minor marks present on the blueing. Calibre: 20 gauge. Mechanism: Side by Side. Origin: England. Orientation: Right Handed. Trigger(s): 2. Barrel Length: 28.000. Barrel Length Inches: 28. Stock Length: 14.250. Stock Length Fraction: 0.25. Choke: 1/4. Choke 2: 5/8.

Made August 11th 1898 for Leolin Brigg esq of Kildwick Hall, Keighley, West Yorkshire by Messrs William Powell of Birmingham, just as ejectors had started to be fitted to their guns.
A Captain in the 5th Batallion during WW1, Mr Brigg was out shooting on Haworth Moor in October 1938 when he suddenly collapsed and died.
The gun was re barrelled May 22nd 1964 by William Powells for S Entwistle of Blackpool, re laying it with the original rib from the number 2 barrels.
The gun is in excellent order with a stunning piece of wood. The barrels are well in proof, with plenty of wall thickness and free from dents or pitting.
The action is rose and scroll engraved and also in excellent order. This is the number 2 gun from a pair, and will have been substantially expensive when it was made.
We will arrange to have the history come complete with this gun for the purchaser. Calibre: 12 gauge. Mechanism: Side by Side. Origin: England. Orientation: Right Handed. Trigger(s): 2. Barrel Length: 28.0
